First, where in the world is Lion Mountain? I'm glad that you asked. Today we call it, Sierra Leone, Chef Niema's hometown. The area was named by a Portuguese explorer, Pedro de Cintra who while sailing down the west African coast in 1462 named the mountains lining the coast, Serra de Leao (Lioness Mountains). At a later point in history while mapping the region, an Italian cartographer referred to the mountains as Sierra Leone (Lion Mountain) in Italian and since then, the Italian spelling has been used.

What: A Taste of Lion Mountain is an authentic African dining experience that will excite all 5 senses - you will see, taste, touch, hear and smell all things Lion Mountain. Double up on your cultural experience by eating in a traditional way and Dine on a Mat, where place settings are prepared atop a woven mat on the floor and you enjoy your meal the Fulani way! Other entertainment will include, live African tunes by local violinist J. Brown, artworks from local artists and African fashion by RNL Authentics. Wear your African attire and come eat like the Lion Mountain locals do, with your hands!
