- i'm bored...i grab my cell phone to entertain myself
- what time is it...i look down at my cell phone i don't wear a watch anymore
- when is my doctor's appointment...i depend on my cell phone to remind me
- kid about to drive me crazy...i hand over my cellphone and they're happy
- i want to get a drug-free high...i go to itunes and
get the idoser app, that's right, on my cell phone!
i SERIOUSLY don't know how we ever existed without today's technological devices but thank god for them. i know these new age kids may not believe it was ever this way, but i remember when a cellular phone was actually just a cellular phone. no apps, no web browser, no games, no music, just a plain ole in case of emergency type of device. its so easy to forget that ancient place from whence we came, but i can remember as middleschooler/highschooler getting a small thrill from calling my crush from the payphone bank in the mall and then checking all the coin return slots as you walked away (don't front, you know you did it too) those were the good ole days.
but those good ole days of simplicity are far behind us now. we are married to our smartphones, they complete us. they make it so easy to stay in touch, i mean you can reach out and touch or should i say text, anyone from just about anywhere. so easily that people actually prefer sending a text message than placing a phone call and if you want to up it a notch video chat is also an option. i mean, back in the day, video chat was right up there with flying cars, just look at the jetsons...george video chatted, had a flying car and a talking robotic maid...hmmm maybe apple is working on that! LOL!
i close with this food for thought, we should all consider career moves to rheumatology...arthritic thumb is sure to be the biggest ailment of tomorrow, and we can all thank blackberry's qwerty keyboard apple's one thumb reach for that!
