Posting Prerogative

Social networks have become not only a mean of socializing, but a mean of communication and has wonderfully morphed into means of therapy and ego massagers as well. People nowadays are so open and loose fingered that they really don't care what you think about what they post/say on these networks.

I've heard several views on why people think other people choose to post so openly...(1) they're fishing for comments/compliments, (2) they don't know any better or (3) they just do give a ----! Either way, my stance is who are we to say what people can/cannot, should/should not say on the ever so public internet? Right? Maybe they want to be heard or better yet they neeeeed to be heard.

I'm not one of those people who turns up their noses to people who air it all out. To me its as simple as reading a post and if I like, I click like if I have 2 cents then I add my 2 cents and move on, no harm no foul, no judging here.

However, there are instances when I would say one should use precaution; up and coming professionals, airing it all out is dangerous because potential employers are checking social networking sites to sniff out the riff raff before making a hiring decision. Haters, naysayers and those who mean you no good are watching and waiting to take any tid bit of information you post to use against you negatively, so be careful.

At the end of the day, if you choose to post openly, please do us all a favor and don't get mad when and if people say derogatory things about what you post, you put it out there so be ready to deal with what might be said.
