WHO is she talking too?

When it comes to blogging, I'm such a novice, but then again I've been talking to myself all of my life which kind of makes me a pro at this if that's the case. As babies - we babble and coo to ourselves; as toddlers - we play by ourselves and talk to stuffed animals who really can't talk back so its like we're talking to ourselves; as teenagers - we mumble rebellious statements to ourselves behind our parents backs; as adults - we bitch and complain about life to ourselves (...and on facebook, twitter, myspace and our blogs :] ) and as senior citizens - we go right back to babbling and cooing to ourselves...so there you have it, a full life circle of talking to ourselves. Essentially that's all blogging really is...talking (typing) to yourself with the intention of other people hearing (reading) what it is that you have to say.

I mean let's be honest, we ALL talk to ourselves or have caught someone in the act, its actually healthy, or so I read. Christopher Williams even made a song about it called Talk to Myself and if you're an 80's baby then you know what I'm talking about, if not then follow the link and you'll be all caught up!

Now, I don't know about you, but when I engage in these one-sided conversations, I often let a word or phrase slip out loud and sadly not even on purpose, just slips out. What I like to call verbal diarrhea. I personally think that's ok, until someone hears you and you're left looking a little bit crazy if there's no one else around to be your sounding board. This has happened to me all too many times and now that its after the fact, I can laugh...but at the time, I was VERY embarrassed to be caught red handed mumbling to myself, talking my hands, nodding and even chuckling. It's really not a good (or healthy) look. LOL!
